EXCURSIONS FOR SPRING 2000
Santa Monica Transportation Department and the Human Services Department invite you to enjoy the Big Blue Bus trips planned for July, August, and September 2000. (scroll down for schedule)
All trips leave from Santa Monica City Hall, 1685 Main Street (between Colorado & Pico), Santa Monica. Free parking is available to excursioneers on trip days in the metered lot south of City Hall. Young people under 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Departure points and time are subject to change. Cost includes admission unless otherwise noted. Seating is limited. Tickets may be purchased at the Big Blue Bus office, 1660 Seventh Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401-3324, or you may purchase tickets by mail.

LONG BEACH AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC
& SHORELINE VILLAGE
SATURDAY, JULY 29, 2000
TICKET SALES BEGIN JUNE 12, 2000
DEPARTURE: Buses will leave Santa Monica City Hall PROMPTLY at 9:15 a.m. After visiting the Aquarium, you may visit Shoreline Village which is walking distance from the Aquarium. You can have your hand stamped and go back to the Aquarium throughout the day.
RETURN: Buses will leave the Aquarium PROMPTLY at 4:00 p.m., returning to Santa Monica at approximately 5:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS.
COST: Srs. (60+): $26/Adults: (12 & over): $28/Children: (3-11): $22 (lunch is not included)
The Aquarium of the Pacific is a celebration of the world’s largest and most diverse body of water. Through dozens of breathtaking exhibits, you’ll meet more than 12,000 of the ocean’s inhabitants, including some 550 different species. You will journey through three major exhibit galleries, including the temperate coastal waters of Southern California and Baja; the frigid ice-laden waters of the North Pacific and the brilliant coral communities of the Tropical Pacific. After visiting the Aquarium, you may visit Shoreline Village. Stroll down the boardwalk and discover waterfront dining, specialty shops, and water activities.
A DAY IN SANTA BARBARA

DEPARTURE: Buses will leave Santa Monica City Hall PROMPTLY at 8:00 a.m.
RETURN: Buses will leave Santa Barbara PROMPTLY at 4:30 p.m., returning to Santa Monica at approximately 7:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS.
COST: $20 per person ( lunch is not included)
Warm sunshine and refreshing sea breezes embrace you from the moment you arrive in beautiful Santa Barbara. As you explore Santa Barbara, you will notice reminders of its past: Old adobes with quiet courtyards, streets that bear names of historical figures, and the Mediterranean-style architecture that dominates the town inspired by the Spanish residents of the city’s early years. You can easily walk to many Santa Barbara attractions, or ride the shuttles that run along State Street and the waterfront. The Santa Barbara Trolley company also operates open-air sightseeing vehicles.
CATALINA ISLAND

DEPARTURE: Buses will leave Santa Monica City Hall PROMPTLY at 7:00 a.m. The Catalina Jet will depart at 8:45 a.m. from Long Beach to Catalina.
RETURN: The Catalina Jet will return from Avalon at 5:45 p.m., The buses will leave Long Beach by 7:00 p.m., arriving in Santa Monica at approximately 8:30 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS.
COST: Cost: $42 per person/Children (2-11): $38 (lunch is not included)
Sail away to Avalon, on beautiful Santa Catalina Island - a complete resort community offering a variety of island tours, activities, restaurants and shops. The conducted tours, at an additional fee, include boats, bus, air and diving trips. The Catalina Jet state-of-the-art catamaran is designed to travel at 36 knots, and is the fastest commercial passenger vessel on the West Coast and will cut travel time to Catalina Island to 55 minutes. The Catalina Jet features the most complete stabilizing system of any commercial passenger vessel in the country which will minimize the motion on the water. The Catalina Jet measures 142 feet by 39 feet, the second largest catamaran ever built in the U.S. The Jet is equipped with a snack bar where you may purchase sweet rolls, sandwiches and beverages.
