In 1958, after 2 years of renovation, the aging Ocean Park Pier reopened as Pacific Ocean Park. With it's new nautical theme, P.O.P. featured many imagnative rides created with help from over 80 Hollywood special effects artists. It also included traditional midway fare: the Sea Serpent roller coaster, a ferris wheel and seen here "Pacific Ocean Highway Autopia"'s bumper cars. Nearby, the Ocean Skyway whisked visitors from the beach, high over the surf to "Mysterious Island" and back. It's likely candidate for Dada's 2010 Calendar.
