Like Santa Monica, the pier has changed a bit over the years. In the mid 80's the end of the per was ripped off by a particularily virulent El Nino storm. After that it was quite a bit shorter, but there were still some funky little places on the pier, like a bait shop and fresh fish market, a weird plaster-of paris novelty shop, a seedy bar called Moby's Dock and the Okie Dog.
