Located just west of the continental divide, the Firehole River is aptly named, serving as the main drain for Yellowstone's western geyser basins. Further along its path, the Firehole drops over several spectacular waterfalls along its way to join the Snake River and, eventually, the Columbia on it's way to the Pacific Ocean.
